Modern heel height for men's’ footwear is generally between 1” and 1.5” with 1.25” being about normal. This lack of height dictates that there is little opportunity for creative heel shapes, the choices realistically being square, pitched or curved pitched (or Cuban).
Once again the scope widens for women's’ footwear in terms of height and heel shape. With higher heels heel shapes can now range from the stiletto, the Louis Cuban, the Lious Q through to engravings or studding on the heel itself.
